The brilliant idea of a Swiss engineer to manufacture and distribute the first silently operating curtain track system led to the foundation of Silent Gliss in 1952. It was the first time that aluminum curtain tracks had been combined with polyamide (nylon) gliders. These products were patented and the trademark Silent Gliss was registered. Subsidiaries were established, first in Europe and then overseas. Today, Silent Gliss products are manufactured and distributed throughout the world, including Japan, Australia S.E. Asia, the USA, Canada and South America. By establishing such a widespread distribution network Silent Gliss became known as a leader in the field of high quality window treatment around the world
